Planning a Large Group Holiday in Corfu: What You Need to Know

A large group holiday in Corfu is genuinely achievable without the usual compromises, but it does require more planning than a holiday for two or four. Getting 10 to 14 people from different places onto the same island, into the same property, and through a week together without organisational friction is its own project. This guide covers what we have learned from hosting larger groups: what works, what to look for, and what to sort out early.
Why a Private Villa Works Better Than a Hotel for Large Groups
Hotels are designed for individual bookings. When you travel as a group of 10 or more, you are paying for 5 or 6 separate rooms, coordinating keys and housekeeping schedules, eating dinner across two or three tables, and generally spending a lot of energy keeping the group together when the building is working against you.
A private villa gives the whole group a single space. One pool, one kitchen, one terrace, one breakfast table. The cost is shared across everyone, which typically makes the per-person price competitive with a decent hotel. You gain privacy that a hotel cannot offer, the flexibility to eat in or out on any given evening, and the simple pleasure of having nowhere to be except wherever the group decides.
For large families in particular, the ability to put children to bed in the same building while adults have dinner on the terrace is something hotels cannot replicate.
What to Look for in a Villa
When you are reviewing villas for a group of 10 to 14, a few things matter more than the headline bedroom count.
Sleeping configuration. Check not just the number of beds but how they are arranged. A mix of king and twin rooms suits most groups better than all double beds. Confirm whether any beds convert, which adds flexibility for groups with children.
Bathrooms. A ratio of at least one bathroom per two bedrooms avoids the kind of morning queues that start to wear on people by day three. Six bathrooms for five bedrooms is a comfortable arrangement.
Outdoor space. A large pool is obvious, but also consider the size of the terrace and dining area. For 14 people to eat together comfortably outside, you need enough table and seating space to accommodate them all.
Concierge or property management. Larger groups generate more logistical questions than smaller ones. A reliable point of contact before and during the stay saves a significant amount of time and resolves problems before they become issues.
Getting Everyone There
The main challenge with a large group trip is coordinating arrivals. People come from different cities and have different flexibility on travel dates and times. A few things that help:
Book flights as early as possible, particularly for summer. Corfu has good summer connections from most UK airports, but seats on the most convenient morning departures go quickly for July and August.
Decide early whether you are hiring cars or using transfers. For 14 people, two or three hire cars covers most days comfortably. For the arrival journey from the airport, a private minibus or two smaller private transfers is often the smoothest option. Our concierge team can arrange this before you arrive.
Agree a rough arrival window when you book. Not everyone needs to land at the same time, but knowing approximately when the first and last arrivals will be makes the first day run considerably more smoothly.
Group Activities That Work Well
Some activities scale well to groups of 10 or more and some do not. These are the ones that consistently work.
A boat trip to Paxos and Antipaxos. This is a full day out and genuinely suits a larger group. A private charter from Agios Stefanos harbour gives you control over the schedule and the stops, and the per-person cost for a group your size is reasonable. Voutoumi beach on Antipaxos, with its turquoise water, is a highlight for most people.
A Greek evening at a beachfront taverna. The tavernas at Agios Stefanos beach are a short walk from the villa. A long dinner with fresh fish, wine, and music at one of the beachfront restaurants is one of the more enjoyable evenings a group can have, and it requires almost no planning beyond a reservation.
Sunset at Akrotiri. Akrotiri Lounge is five minutes from the villa on foot. It sits on the headland between the two beaches with a panoramic sea view and a good cocktail menu. Arriving as a group for drinks before dinner is a simple but reliably good evening.
Pool days at the villa. Do not underestimate the value of doing nothing at all. A day with 14 people at the villa pool, with lunch on the terrace and no fixed plan, is often the day people talk about most afterwards.
Booking Tips
Book early for July and August. Quality villas in good locations for groups of 10 or more book up well in advance for peak season. If your target dates are in July or August, start looking 9 to 12 months out.
Book direct where possible. Third-party rental platforms add service fees of 12 to 18 percent on top of the villa rate. When you book directly with the villa, you pay the actual rate and deal directly with the people who will be managing your stay. This also means you can sort out concierge requests, pre-stock preferences, and transfer arrangements in one conversation rather than going through an intermediary.
Why Stefanos Rock Works for Groups of Up to 14
Stefanos Rock has five en-suite bedrooms across two main suites and three further rooms, sleeping up to 14 guests. The sleeping configuration includes beds that convert from super king to twin, which gives flexibility for groups with children or guests who prefer single beds.
The 58m² infinity pool and terrace are sized for a group rather than a couple. The outdoor dining area seats the whole group at once. A dedicated concierge is included in every booking and handles everything from restaurant reservations to boat charters and grocery deliveries before you arrive.
You can see the full villa details, room configuration, and what is included on our Villa page and Rates page. If you have questions about whether the property suits your group, get in touch before you book and we will give you a straight answer.
