Life at Stefanos Rock - Your Guide to Villa Living in Corfu

There is no set way to spend a day at Stefanos Rock. You might walk down to the beach before breakfast, stay by the pool until late afternoon or take a boat out for the day. Here are a few ideas, all within easy reach of the villa.

Wake Up to the Ionian

The bedrooms open onto private balconies or terraces, so there is always somewhere quiet to take a first coffee. Downstairs, the kitchen and living room open directly onto the pool deck.

Morning is also a good time for a swim, before the pool terrace warms up and the boats begin leaving Agios Stefanos harbour below.

Beach Days and Hidden Coves

Agios Stefanos beach is five minutes down the hill. It is sandy, the water stays shallow near the shore, and a line of family-run tavernas sits along the back of the beach. In season you can hire kayaks, paddleboards and small boats there too.

For a longer day out, hire a boat from the local harbour and follow the coast to coves and swimming spots that are difficult to reach on foot.

Island Adventures

Boat Trips to Paxos and Antipaxos

A day cruise to Paxos and Antipaxos is a good choice when you want to spend a full day on the water. Most trips stop at Voutoumi Beach on Antipaxos, where the pale seabed gives the water its distinctive turquoise colour.

Sunset at Loggas Beach

Loggas Beach, also called Sunset Beach, is about 15 minutes away by car. The viewpoint and 7th Heaven Café sit above the cliffs, facing west. Arrive early if you want a table for sunset in July or August.

Exploring Corfu's Heritage

Corfu Old Town is about 40 minutes away. Its Venetian-era streets, Old and New Fortresses and the Liston are easy to explore on foot, with plenty of places to stop for coffee or lunch.

Closer to the villa, the 13th-century Paleokastritsa Monastery overlooks a series of small bays. There is a small Byzantine art museum inside, and boats leave from the beach below for the nearby sea caves.

Culinary Experiences

The tavernas in Agios Stefanos serve fish, grilled meat, mezze and Corfiot dishes such as pastitsada. Most are informal beachfront places where lunch can easily run into the afternoon.

Akrotiri Lounge is a five-minute walk from the villa, on the headland between Agios Stefanos and Arillas. It serves modern Greek food and cocktails, with a west-facing terrace that is worth booking ahead for sunset.

Several Corfu wineries offer tastings of local varieties including Kakotrygis and Petrokoritho. Half-day tours often combine a vineyard visit with olive oil and mezze.

The Greek Night Experience

Local tavernas hold Greek nights throughout the season, usually with a set dinner, live music and dancing. They are lively, informal evenings and work well for larger groups and families.

Water Sports and Adventures

The calm water around Agios Stefanos works well for kayaking and paddleboarding. Local dive centres also offer beginner sessions and guided cave or reef dives for certified divers.

You can also arrange horse riding, or walk the coastal paths and inland routes through the olive groves. Ask us for a route that suits the weather and your group.

Back at the Villa

Back at the villa, there is a built-in barbecue and a dining table under the pergola. If you would rather have someone else cook, the concierge can arrange a private chef, as well as boat charters and restaurant bookings.

You can plan every day or barely plan at all. The beaches and villages are close enough to reach on foot, and the pool, terraces and outdoor dining area make staying in an easy option.
